SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE
>> is a tense that show something happens because of habitual, and repeated action, general truth, and also command.
Example :
- I usually eat fried rice for my breakfast. (habitual action)
- My sister celebrates her birthday party every year. (repeated action)
- The sky in the night is dark. (general truth)
- Open the window, please! (command)
All of those are the examples of Simple Present Tense
There are some patterns to make a sentence of Simple Present Tense, verbal and nominal sentences. This time, I will be more concern with verbal pattern of Simple Present Tense.
>> Verbal pattern
+) Subject + V1 (es/s) + (Object)
-) Subject + do/does + NOT + V1 + (Object)
?) Do/does + subject + (Object)

Verb
For positive simple present tense is using bare Verb added by -es/s at the end of the verb.
for example : go - goes, visit - visit, eat - eats, hope - hopes
Also there are some verbs that have ending -y , before it adds by -es/s the letter -y must be changed into -i. Example : study + studies, carry - carries
(still a lot of patterns of verbs, and I will explain it in my next writing)
For negative simple present tense is using auxiliary verb "do/does"and the verb must be in bare verb form.
Do : I, you, we, they.
Does : He, She.
For interrogative simple present tense, you just move the auxiliary verb "do/does" in front of the sentence and don't forget to change the verb into bare form.
Object
why do I use brackets for the word Object? because there are verbs that doesn't need object and it's called as intransitive verb. (I will explain it too in my next writing).
Adverb of time : usually, every time, every sunday, every year, rarely, always, habitually, once a week, sometimes, and so on.
Example :
1. + ) My mother reads a tabloid every Sunday morning.
- ) My mother does not read a tabloid every Sunday morning.
? ) Does my mother read a tabloid every Sunday morning.
2. + ) Bayu and I study English every Wednesday.
- ) Bayu and I do not study English every Wednesday.
? ) Do Bayu and I study English every Wednesday.
Try to answer these following question in comment column by changing the form based on the brackets.
1. My father does not go to his office every Sunday. (+, ?)
2. The water freezes at 0 degrees. (-, ?)
